TOUR IN BRIEF
Many people have already been to the French Riviera, but only few of them have discovered the magic of the Alps above the Côte d’Azur. Our trip will take you into a natural reservation along the River Verdon, a place called the Grand Canyon du Verdon. A region full of scenic routes, beautiful views and picturesque towns. The next day, driving enthusiasts can look forward to a tour over the Col de Turini, a pass over Monaco, where the famous WRC Monte Carlo Rally is held every year.
DAY-BY-DAY PROGRAMME
Upon arrival, a driver will meet you in the arrivals hall and you will be driven by limousine to your hotel, about 40 minutes from the airport. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon and a wonderful evening meal.
Overnight stay in a hotel near Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO: a tour across Verdon Gorge park | the French Grand Canyon | the small towns of Gourden, Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
In the morning after breakfast you will meet your trip advisor, who will introduce you to your car and explain the itinerary of your trip and stay in detail. They will hand over a printed route book and programmed satnav with the route for both days.
On the first day, you can expect more than 270 kilometres of beautiful, winding roads in the Verdon park region. We recommend that you make a couple of stops, such as in the picturesque town of Gourdon, which offers breathtaking views of the Alps and the sea.
After driving along the terraced road in the French canyon, you will stop in the magnificent town of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, where we will recommend some restaurants for lunch. If you have come to France for a gastronomic experience, you should not miss out on a visit to the restaurant Le Bastide de Moustiers, owned by culinary master and trailblazer of French haute cuisine Alain Ducasse.
The trip back to your hotel leads around Lake La Croix and across other attractive parts of the reservation.
Overnight stay in a hotel near Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO: Col de Turini | Èze | Nice
In the morning, you first travel about 40 kilometres on the A1 motorway towards Monte Carlo, then leave the motorway and gradually climb towards the town of Sospel, where the Col de Turini track starts, peaking at a height of 1,600 m above sea level. At the top, we recommend you stop for coffee at the coffee shop, where you will find countless photographs and icons of the famous Monte Carlo Rally.
After the stop for refreshments, you descend back towards the coast. This part of the route gives you many beautiful views of the mountains. Within approximately an hour, you come to the village of Èze standing on a cliff at a height of 400 m above sea level. You can take a walk around the village and have lunch in a place we recommend.
After a tasty lunch, a short trip to Nice awaits you. Then check in to a hotel situated on the famous Promenade des Anglais. You leave your car here, where it will be picked up by the rental agency’s staff. Enjoy the seaside atmosphere, a walk and the rest of the evening.
Overnight stay in a hotel on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
If your flight plan and the weather permits, we recommend the optional experience of a cruise on a luxury small boat from Cap Ferrat to Monaco.
